INDEPENDENCE HALL, PHILADELPHIA. The scene of the Declaration of Independence, July 4th, 1776. It was first occupied as the State House of Pennsylvania in October, 1735, and the City of Philadelphia took possession in 1800. A beautiful and historic building has been erected upon the Independence Grounds as the State Building of Pennsylvania at the Jamestown Exposition.
